1) expand the number and variety of rooms available to families,
2) consolidate services on one campus,
3) create beautiful and healing gathering spaces for families
4) create a Ronald McDonald Family Room® at Primary Children’s Medical Center.
These goals are being accomplished by significantly remodeling our existing main House and constructing a new 38,000 sq. ft. House adjacent to it on property owned by RMHC (901 E. So. Temple).
A Ronald McDonald Family Room in the existing inpatient wing at PCMC (which opened in June 2013) provides a warm, welcoming and home-like respite area within the hospital for patient families. Parents are able to take a moment to shower, do a load of laundry, eat a snack, send an email, or even take a nap - all within a beautiful “home-away-from home” just steps away from their child’s bed side. A Family Room at PCMC also allows RMHC to serve Salt Lake families who do not stay at our Houses, as well as families from rural areas and surrounding states receiving outpatient or inpatient care at PCMC.
We have raised approximately $10.2 million of our $11 million project goal. We invite you to join us as we RE-build for the future, to support children and families who come to our community to access specialty pediatric medical care for their seriously ill or injured child.
